April 8 marked the final presentation of “4-H: Hendrix-Grown Theatre,” featuring plays by Phillip Powell, Jay Vicente, and Elizabeth Yang.
The program, which is based on the New York City organization 13-P (13 playwrights), fostered the creation and collaboration of dramatic work. H-4 was an immersive writing workshop that was designed and led by Andy Vaught, Murphy Visiting Fellow in Theatre Arts.
Each student wrote their own play and met throughout the spring semester to contribute to the group through critique, organizational efforts, and production duties. Vaught aimed to cultivate a setting where students could support one another while learning the professional process of new play development. Each student’s dramatic work grew from , concluding with a public performance of readings in Cabe Theatre.
