The literature of the theatre is alive and well—thriving through activities such as

• the annual Playwriting Contest for students and alumni, judged by a professional playwright;

• Playwright's Theatre, a staged reading of a winning play from that contest;

• a Visiting Theatre Director, in residence for six weeks to direct a play and teach students about how directors interact with scripts;

• dramaturgy and directing opportunities;

• a week-long summer playwriting workshop at St. Mary's University in London.
